Practices of Indulgence:

As I researched I found out that indulgence is a cancellation before god of someones sins that have already been forgiven. Martin Luther King Jr. objected to indulgences because he did not believe that the pope could know whether or not the pardon would be granted and felt the church was essentially stealing from the people. My research led me to believe that not that many people when MLK was campaigning believed in God because of this.

The Hajj:

The Hajj is an annual Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca, Saudi Arabia, the holiest city for Muslims, and a mandatory religious duty for Muslims that must be carried out at least once in their lifetime by adults. Hajj means "heading to a place for the sake of visiting." During Hajj the Pilgrims perform acts of worship and they renew their sense of purpose in the world. It is a ritual that is designed to promote the bonds of Islamic brotherhood and sisterhood by showing that everyone is equal in the eyes of Allah. The Hajj makes Muslims feel real importance of life here on earth, and the afterlife, by stripping away all markers of social status, wealth, and pride. In the Hajj all are truly equal.
