Class Post 10-31-18
Today in class we looked at population pyramids. I like the concept of these because it shows how many people there are in a place and how old they are. This could help with a lot of things because if someone from the census is looking at how many people who are 40-44 then they can look at the population pyramid and see how many maes and females there are there. This would also help if you were trying to see the percent of people in a city or state. You can look at the population pyramid and see much of the city are of people 40-44 and how many are males or females there are that are 40-44. This is cool because if you are looking for a quiet place that you can relax and live your life without any problems then you can look at the pyramid and see how many people live there and decide if you want to go live there. It would also help if law enforcement was looking for a place where someone could be then they could look at the pyramid and see how many people are there and see if that is a valid place to look. In conclusion, I like the population pyramid and think that it a good and cool idea.

Class Blog 10-29-18
Today in class we finished our CIA Factbooks, if we did not finish it already. I liked this activity because it was interesting to look at all of the facts about our country and our population of our country. This was interesting to see the infant mortality rate of our country, the population and other things like that. I liked how the website had all the information about our country and I was wondering how they get all that information. I found out that there are people who ll they do is go around the country and figure this out. I would not want to be one of these people because if I had to go around and find out the infant mortality rate then I would be scarred for life. That has to be the worst job ever. In conclusion, I liked the activity and thought that the website was cool.
CIA Factbook
1. Infant Mortality Rate
total: 5.8 deaths/1,000 live births
male: 6.3 deaths/1,000 live birthsfemale: 5.3 deaths/1,000 live births
I found this interesting because the infant mortality rate for males is more than females. This connects to what we are going over in class because we just went over the Infant Mortality Rate and we were shown that it compares to 1,000 births.
2. Net Migration Rate
3.9 migrant(s)/1,000 population
I found this cool because it has gone up, I know this because it was at 3.11 and it is now at 3.9. This relates to what we were doing in class because we had just gone over how Net Migration Rate is figured out and what it was 2 years ago, which was 3.61.
3. Birth rate:
total: 5.8 deaths/1,000 live births
male: 6.3 deaths/1,000 live birthsfemale: 5.3 deaths/1,000 live births
I found this interesting because the infant mortality rate for males is more than females. This connects to what we are going over in class because we just went over the Infant Mortality Rate and we were shown that it compares to 1,000 births.
2. Net Migration Rate
3.9 migrant(s)/1,000 population
I found this cool because it has gone up, I know this because it was at 3.11 and it is now at 3.9. This relates to what we were doing in class because we had just gone over how Net Migration Rate is figured out and what it was 2 years ago, which was 3.61.
3. Birth rate:
12.5 births/1,000 population
Death Rate
8.2 deaths/1,000 population
This is interesting because these two combine and can show you the crude birth rate which is found by subtracting the death rate by the birth rate. We just went over this in class and we were shown how to find it and that it gives us the annual natural growth rate in %for a country.
4. Life Expectancy
total population: 80 years
male: 77.7 years
female: 82.2 years
This is interesting because it has gone up for the total population, up for men, and up for women. In class we were taught that it was 79.68 for the total population, 77.32 for men and 81.97 for women. Which isn't that much but it has gone up.
5.Population
United States: 326,625,791
I found this interesting because it is at 329,256,465 right now which is a lot of change from 326,625,791. We learned about this in class and we were shown that we are the country with the third highest population following after China and India.

Class Post 10-23-18
Today in class we continued to work our way through the new unit which I am liking a lot. I have been looking at the population clock since class that day and it has been continuously going up and not stopping. The though that when we are about 50 that there will be about 9-10 billion people on the earth is still in my head. I just cannot believe that there will be that many people on an earth that is said to not be able to hold everyone today. When there are that many people there will probably be wars and fights between countries and in countries for food and water. This will be very bad for our earth because when there are that many people that means more pollution, and more pollution means global warming. That means that the atmosphere will be getting thinner and thinner until eventually there is nothing left and we all die. In conclusion, as more people are born and brought into this world the more our lives are at danger.

Class Post 10-22-18
Today in class we started a new unit about Population and Migration. I think that I will like this unit because I have always wanted to learn about population yet I have never gotten the chance to learn about it. We have already learned about the population clock which I did not even know existed. The population clock is a real time counter that keeps track of everyone on the earth. It shows how many people are in the whole world and in the U.S. and it even tells you how many people are in every country as well. It tells us that there is someone born every 8 seconds, one death every 12 seconds, one international migrant every 29 seconds, and a net gain of one person every 13 seconds in the United States. This shows that the U.S. population is constantly growing and it is most likely not going to stop growing unless something like a plague happens again. Which is unlikely to happen in this century but can most definitely happen. In conclusion I think that I will like this new unit and that there is going to be a lot of cool things that I am going to learn in class.

Feelings Bout Test 10-19-18
Today in class we took our unit 2 test and I feel pretty good about it. I have been studying for a since we first reviewed for it and I feel like I did good and I knew most of the answers. One question that I wasn't sure on was the one about El Paso, Texas, I don't remember going over that but I feel like my answer that I put was correct. Every other question I am pretty sure that I got right. I liked how this test was all multiple choice and not multiple choice, short answer, and an essay. I felt like it was easier because it was only multiple choice. I did not like the short answer and essay test and I did not do good on it either so that contributed to me not liking it. I need to get my grade up to a B in this class and I feel like this test is going to do it. In conclusion, I feel like I did good on this test and got a good grade.

Class Post 10-17-18
Today in class we continued reviewing for our test on Friday. I feel like I am going to do pretty good on our test on Friday because I have been studying for the past 5 or so days and I feel good about it. This unit has been pretty fun and I like it because in public school we never learned anything about maps and location. Even though it is tough going from a public school to a private school and having to learn things that we have not even touched in public school. For example my bible class is totally different from my old school because that wasn't even a class. But back to Human Geo, its totally different than what I would have expected. I thought it was going to be like last year where it was watching videos and taking notes but it is the opposite. I like how the teacher interacts with the students this year. In the end, Human Geo is one of my favorite classes and I can't wait to go through the rest of the semester in the class.

Class Post 10-16-18
Today in class we reviewed the different beliefs that people in different regions have and different cultures. There are different customary beliefs all around the world, including religion. In some places there is a required religion but in some like the U.S. there is no required religion or language. For example, in India it is required that you follow and practice either the religion of Hinduism or Islamic. In some cultures the clothing that people wear is worn by almost everyone that lives there, for example in a place like Hawaii most everyone wears shorts and a short-sleeve t-shirt. There are also customary languages that are practiced and sometimes required in some places. For example, in China it is expected that you speak Chinese and most everyone speaks Chinese there. In conclusion, all over the world there are customary beliefs being practiced in many different ways.

10-3-18
Today in class we got new seats and I like mine. I felt like when I was over on the right side where I chose to sit I was getting distracted by a lot of things. I feel like I will be able to pay attention better in this new seat and do better in class. Today in class we were talking about location still, I feel like this is a good unit to learn because as we continue to get older we are going to begin to use GPS more and we need to know what it does and what other things we can do with it. I like this unit because at my old school the never really taught us that and I like this kind of stuff. Learning about GPS, location, latitude and longitude, and what the GPS is actually doing is interesting to me and I think it is cool and interesting.

Feelings About Test Grade
I feel like I could have gotten a better grade if I would have studied better and read through the directions better. I thought I did well overall I just got a bit confused. I thought I was going to ace it but I should have thought more about it. I wish I would have gotten the bell the time but next time I will get it because I know what to study and how to study this time. I felt like I did a good job on my essay that I wrote about Socrates and his trial and I did. I got a 35 out of 40 because I did not include some stuff but it is fine, I will get a 40 out of 40 next time because I know what you expect and how to write it and what I need to include. I could have done better if had just studied more but I did not. I need to look back at my notes the night before and if I can study before if I have an off mod or advisory. In conclusion I feel like I did pretty decent and that I can do better next time.

Class Discussion 10-1-18
Today in class we learned that apps and voice responding devices are always listening to you and record what you say. In my opinion this isn't that important because there are so many devices that they are tracking what are the chances that yours will get picked and listened to. It is probably very slim and I am not concerned by this. I do however feel that when you do an update and you are allowing the phone to do whatever it wants that your phone does get traced and monitored by the company. One thing that they are probably allowed to track is what you search, even if it is on a private tab which is not really private because you are probably allowing the phone company to track whatever you search and when you searched it. Another thing that you are allowing the website and or device to track is your location when you allow it to. This means that they can see exactly where you are and when you arrived there and how long you were there for.
