CIA Factbook

1. Infant Mortality Rate
total: 5.8 deaths/1,000 live births
male: 6.3 deaths/1,000 live birthsfemale: 5.3 deaths/1,000 live births

I found this interesting because the infant mortality rate for males is more than females. This connects to what we are going over in class because we just went over the Infant Mortality Rate and we were shown that it compares to 1,000 births.

2. Net Migration Rate
3.9 migrant(s)/1,000 population

I found this cool because it has gone up, I know this because it was at 3.11 and it is now at 3.9. This relates to what we were doing in class because we had just gone over how Net Migration Rate is figured out and what it was 2 years ago, which was 3.61.

3. Birth rate:
12.5 births/1,000 population
Death Rate
8.2 deaths/1,000 population

This is interesting because these two combine and can show you the crude birth rate which is found by subtracting the death rate by the birth rate. We just went over this in class and we were shown how to find it and that it gives us the annual natural growth rate in %for a country.

4. Life Expectancy
total population: 80 years
male: 77.7 years
female: 82.2 years

This is interesting because it has gone up for the total population, up for men, and up for women. In class we were taught that it was 79.68 for the total population, 77.32 for men and 81.97 for women. Which isn't that much but it has gone up.

5.Population
United States: 326,625,791

I found this interesting because it is at 329,256,465 right now which is a lot of change from 326,625,791. We learned about this in class and we were shown that we are the country with the  third highest population following after China and India.

Today is the last class of Human Geo, and I have mixed emotions about it. I don't know if I will miss it or not but it was a good year. ...
