Class Discussion 9-13-18

In class today we talked about wether or not we thought Socrates should be proven guilty or not. In my mind I think that he should have been proven guilty. I believe this because in Athen or any city-state there is certain beliefs that you are basically required to follow. One belief that they make you believe is that the sun is a flaming carriage that is being pulled across the sky by Achilles the greek god. So when Socrates told people that their beliefs were not correct the Greek government thought that he was corrupting the minds of the children and citizens. The main thing that Socrates was charged with was "Corruption of The Minds of Children in Athens." This is why I think that Socrates should be proven guilty. Once he was proven guilty he has sentenced to death by drinking poison Hemlock and died in about an hour. One interesting thing about this is that he was given a chance to escape but he refused to because ehe wanted to show his loyalty to the Athenian Government.
